Correlation Between Body Composition Parameters and Cardiac Workload by Rate Pressure Product Among Young, Healthy Medical Students

A Note From the Writer:

Obesity has become a major global problem leading to diabetes, hypertension, and metabolic syndrome. Students studying medicine are said to be under a lot of time pressure because they must devote a lot of their waking hours to attending hospital posts, practical lessons, and theory lectures. As a result, they have very little time left over for exercise. Due to time restrictions, students also overindulge in eating junk food. All these reasons make them vulnerable to obesity. As obesity can persist and result in cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes miletus, it is essential to identify these clinical entities as early as possible to prevent the conditions effectively.

As a physician, firstly, I was concerned about this growing issue and wanted to assess the prevalence of obesity among medical students as they are future doctors who will be treating their patients and helping them realize the importance of disease and its prevention and hence conducted this study. Secondly, I wanted to utilize the simple parameters with which disease burden could be calculated, thereby helping most of the physicians to do the same in their setups easily.

I am submitting this study to BSLM 2023 to present my findings and create awareness about the disease burden of medical students among lifestyle medicine physicians by using simple parameters. Presenting my analysis at this international forum would be my professional achievement and justification for my hard work.

Parenting Problems and Coping Styles During the COVID-19 Pandemic

A Note From the Writer:

Being the first pandemic of its kind, not enough research had been done on the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown on the mental health of parents and children. I began my modest research keeping this in mind, and I can’t wait to share it with my contemporary academics and receive their expert feedback
