BSLM wish to acknowledge the work of those who can demonstrate outstanding contribution to lifestyle medicine and the integration of this within the UK
Fellowship entitles you to use of your post-nominals FBSLM as an indication of your expertise and standing in Lifestyle Medicine.
Fellowship also means you are a champion for the Society, a voluntary role we are sure you will perform with distinction. We ask that you actively promote both BSLM and the work that you do in Lifestyle Medicine in any setting you see appropriate.
It’s important to note that Fellowship requires ongoing membership of the Society along with any Continuing Professional Development required and observance of ethical standards.
We’re proud that the BSLM Fellowship is a fully interdisciplinary fellowship, open to all Practitioner members of the Society – which means GPs and medical specialists, all other GMC registered practitioners, certain other degree qualified allied health professionals, public health professionals, and suitably qualified researchers and educators in Lifestyle Medicine related fields
Basic Criteria
BSLM Fellowship is built around six suggested ‘achievement areas’. These areas are as follows:
Clinical Practice
Demonstrates your success in embedding lifestyle medicine in to current day-to-day practice
Patient-Centred Practice
Demonstrates the use of a patient-centred approach incorporating the skills of lifestyle medicine
Leadership
Being a trail blazer. Evidence of leading, guiding and representing lifestyle medicine
Teaching and Education
Providing evidence of ways in which knowledge share has taken place
Innovation and Creativity
Demonstrates the ability to use innovative and creative approaches to incorporate and deliver lifestyle medicine
Academia and Research
Having successfully published lifestyle medicine resources and building the evidence base for future healthcare professionals

The below constitutes the application and nomination process, however, BSLM may also appoint honorary fellows at our discretion.
*Where nominations are successful, the nominated Fellow will be liable for providing personal details in support and be liable for the fee of £150. Nominations can be sent at any time throughout the year, there is a related cost of £150 (payable on confirmation) and new Fellows will be celebrated at our annual conference
