BSLM Regional members meeting: Edinburgh & Lothians, Fife & Borders.
The BSLM team in Edinburgh and Lothians, Fife and Borders is getting together for an online meeting on November 23 and all BSLM members in the region are invited to come along.
Join with other BSLM members from your area for a session organised by Edinburgh GP Dr Suzy Scarlett.
Suzy is a BSLM/IBLM diplomate (2020) and a primary care clinical lead for the East of Scotland Partnership for diabetes prevention and remission. She works in an area of Edinburgh with high levels of deprivation and has a passion for getting her patients moving!
The focus of the session will be on using lifestyle medicine approaches to achieve type 2 diabetes remission. Suzy will provide an update on recent local developments in diabetes and pre-diabetes services in the region and plans for the future. Organisers welcome the chance to start a wider discussion about what is possible in the current covid landscape – and what part lifestyle medicine can play in future plans.
It will also be a chance to network and share experiences with other GPs and healthcare professionals with an interest in lifestyle medicine in the region.
The BSLM team in this part of Scotland will also be updating on what activities are planned for the coming months. There will also be a Q&A at the end of the session and a live discussion.
