Bowel Cancer, Diet and the Gut Microbiome with Dr Alan Desmond

In this session, Gastroenterologist Dr Alan Desmond de-scribes the global burden of colorectal cancer, examines the characteristics of the Standard Western Diet that may influence the incidence of this common malignancy, and looks at the epidemiological evidence suggesting that plant-based eating may reduce the risk. He also describes the evidence-based advice that we can give to our patients who wish to reduce their own risk through dietary change.
