The BSLM has been busy working with partners to produce an Executive briefing on Group Clinics. Partners include directorates within NHS England, and partners such as Healthwatch, The Health innovation networks, the Personalised care institute and The experience led care programme.
This Executive Briefing has been produced by the NHS England Group Clinic Task and Finish Group for those tasked with delivering the ambitions of the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan. This group is chaired by Dr Rupa Joshi, the transformation lead for BSLM and NHSE medical directorate lead for Group Clinics, and our COO at BSLM, Emma Mulligan is also a member of the group.
The briefing sets out what Group Clinics are and importantly, how they will help deliver the three shifts desired by government, namely: hospital to community; analogue to digital; and sickness to prevention.
The briefing covers evidence for group clinics, case studies and recommendations for embedding group clinics as business as usual within the NHS, in primary, secondary and community care, and as an integral part of integrated neighbourhood working and multidisciplinary team working.
