Mrs Susan Thomas
- BSLM Regional Director
Sue has worked as a Specialist Nurse Practitioner in general practice for the past 18 years and is hoping to complete a MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice shortly. Her passion lies in providing holistic patient centred care to enable her patients to better self-manage. Lifestyle management is a fundamental part of her role and Sue is keen to learn new and innovative ways of changing health behaviours through new models of patient centred practice. One such patient led model that Sue is keen to introduce is group consultations (shared medical appointments) as an option to care for her patients who live with chronic disease.
Outside of general practice, Sue writes for various nursing journals and is on the editorial board for the Journal of General Practice Nursing. She is also a trained facilitator and teaches with the national training organisation Education for Health. In her spare time, she loves long walks with her husband and two dogs and is a keen tennis player and has just taken up golf (it’s an age thing!)
