Lucy can be found in the virtual world as @drlucyloveday Lucy's preference is to get off her screen and into the green. Lucy is particularly interested in the evidence base for the benefits of physical activity for mental health and the nature connection for health and well being. Lucy is a GP in Devon, living on Dartmoor with her young family. Lucy is relentlessly enthusiastic about using education for positive change and is the creative mind behind the pioneering conference Movement & The Mind 2019 (see events 5.10.19 to JOIN US!). Lucy has a varied and full portfolio career. As an Associate Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, as well as a Training Programme Director, Lucy has a wealth of experience as a medical educator and group facilitator. Lucy has a long-standing interest in facilitating patients and health care professionals to practice self-care and sits on the RCGP National wellbeing working group. Lucy has published in several journals and is always curious to learn more and seek to understand.
Lucy has volunteered in Nepal for NGO PHASE Nepal in 2014, where she was actively involved in the training and mentoring of staff to deliver primary care in remote Himalayan communities. From there grew Lucy’s passion for, and long held interest in post-graduate medical education and lifestyle medicine.
Lucy can be found in the real world, mostly connecting actively with nature; be it attempting to fell run, wild swim, kayak or walk in the wilderness. She would encourage you to try doing the same !
