I'm the founder of Motion to Mind™, a holistic wellbeing service. I specialise in helping teams and individuals build and maintain resilience. Much of my work is based on my experience of serving as a soldier in the British Army for 24 years. I specialised in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) with the Royal Engineers and weapons intelligence with the Intelligence Corps. My service took me all over the world to various high pressure and often high threat environments including Bosnia, West Bank/Gaza and Baghdad.
Outdoor physical activity has long been a form of release for me and military colleagues. It was also a critical enabler of mental fitness, allowing us to operate for extended periods of time in challenging locations. I’ve also seen how adventures, no matter how big or small can transform lives, my own included. A near death experience on a ridge at 15,000 feet in Alaska and surviving being buried alive in a tent on a glacier in South Georgia, Antarctic, prepared me well for future adversity.
Having retired from the Army I’ve moved into the mental/physical health arena, working with companies and private clients. In addition to Motion to Mind™, I’m the founder of urban training brand StreetGym®, a unique way for employees to reinvigorate and get back in the zone by making best use of urban terrain. StreetGym® is designed to relieve stress, build confidence, self-esteem and take people off the beaten track in the heart of the city - www.streetgym.com
