- BSLM Trustee & Director on Education Group (Chairman)
Jodie is a GP currently undertaking a three-year junior lectureship which combines clinics in the Armed Forces and NHS, with teaching GP trainees and undertaking research in Primary Care. She first came across BSLM at the Severn Faculty Lifestyle Medicine day. She felt an immediate sense of kinship, based on a shared aim, with most of the other attendees and found something she’d been searching for: a group of clinicians dedicated to evidence-based lifestyle change.
Since qualifying as a doctor in 2009, Jodie found that she had received training in everything from cardiology to dermatology, but very little on lifestyle medicine, the prevention of disease and preserving health. Now she has made it her mission to ensure that other medical trainees do not also miss out on the fascinating world of lifestyle medicine by promoting lifestyle medicine curriculums for undergraduates and further training for postgraduates.
In her spare time she enjoys running (slowly!), skiing and horse riding – basically anything that gets her outdoors with her husband and dogs!
